Full Arch Restoration in Reno and Sparks, Nevada

Full-Arch Restoration

Completely Restore One or Both Dental Arches

When you have many missing or failing teeth, you may feel as though a part of your identity is missing because your smile is incomplete. Through advances in dentistry and oral surgery, Dr. Galea and Dr. Hammon are able to fully restore one or both dental arches. By securing a permanent prosthesis using dental implants, we can help patients in Reno and Sparks, Nevada, achieve a healthy and functioning smile they can be proud of.

How Does Full-Arch Restoration Work?

Dental implants are widely popular thanks to their versatility. Their use can be tailored to your exact needs, and you can receive as few or as many implants as necessary to restore your smile. Full-arch restoration works by your oral surgeon surgically inserting as few as four dental implant posts into the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. The dental implants fuse to the jaw bone over time, providing stimulation and keeping your jaw healthy.

When a tooth is missing, the root isn’t there to stimulate the jaw. Removable dentures and bridges only sit on top of the bony ridge in the mouth and do not prevent jaw bone loss. Dental implants are the only restorative solution that prevents the jaw from deteriorating, and they are designed to last a lifetime.

Benefits of Full-Arch Restoration

  • The dental implants used to support the fixed denture fuse to the jaw bone, creating a long-term foundation for the prosthesis that can last a lifetime with proper care.
  • Because the implants stimulate the jaw bone, they prevent the jaw from deteriorating over time.
  • By restoring your smile, you are able to feel confident when you eat, sleep, and can live without the need to hide your smile.
  • Dental implants prevent dental shifting, and they prevent facial features from sagging by stimulating the jaw bone.
  • There are no moving parts, so you won’t experience sores caused by traditional dentures.

The Full-Arch Restoration Procedure

Northern Nevada Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery has two locations in Reno and Sparks, Nevada, to serve our patients. Dr. Christopher Galea and Dr. Broc Hammon will examine your oral health and take 3D scans, which will help in designing your custom treatment plan. As a board-certified surgeon and physician, they are qualified to administer all forms of anesthesia to ensure you feel comfortable and at ease during treatment.

On the day of your surgery, Dr. Galea or Dr. Hammon will extract any remaining teeth in the dental arch and place the number of dental implants that are needed to support the denture. We work with your restorative dentist to create the custom-made prosthesis. It will take several months for the implant posts to fuse to your jaw and once they have fully healed, your dentist will place the final prosthesis. You may be given a temporary prosthesis to wear during recovery.
